About

Global Agents for Change (Global AFC) is a social change catalyst. We develop creative ways for young people to explore issues and take action, while generating significant support for global microfinance and education projects.

We run the following major programs:

• Riding to Break the Cycle: Social change cycling tours providing a unique learning experience while generating funds and awareness for global poverty. Annual routes across Europe, North America and Cambodia have raised over $200,000 and engaged thousands of people. New routes are added regularly.

• Education Generation: An online community providing scholarships for young developing world leaders, $20 at a time. Quietly launched in fall 2008, this program already has over 500 members, has funded 160 scholarships and raised over $40,000. Please see www.educationgeneration.org for more information. *This website is legally run by BC registered non-profit “Agents of Change for Economic Empowerment (Agents of Change)”

• Young Agents for Change: Funding and ongoing mentorship for young BC social entrepreneurs (12-20) with local and global projects capable of meaningful impact. Over 20 young leaders have been supported in 2008 & 2009.*This program is also administered by “Agents of Change”

• The Microcredit Challenge: Competing teams of students get $100 “microloans”, and have one week to raise as much money and create as much social change as possible.

*The Global AFC Opportunity Fund – The Opportunity Fund acts as an accelerator for established initiatives, removing barriers to help global community building projects broaden reach and achieve sustainability. We focus on the fields of microfinance and education, assisting future leaders to pull themselves and their communities out of poverty.

It is community endevours like this which shall change the world. We need more inititives like this which are mediated transferes between individuals (and small businesses) to individuals (intending to start businesses). The time of capistic mass control of resourse management of resourses is coming to a sunset with the dramatic results of mircocrediting recognised internationaly with its Asain leader taking a nobel prize. Good Luck Mr. Peters and company, I only wish I could be a comrade in arms (or tires) on your ride.

You guys should also have some sort of soundtrack. Many musicians would be more than willing to donate a song to your cause, then you throw them onto the Agents of Change Riding to Break the Cycle Project Soundtrack and you will hear a super sonic BOOM! I don’t have any “money” to donate, but my ideas are both abundant and free.
