Adios Bay Area

Hello loyal AOC supporters,

We are just about finished with our well deserved break in the bay area.  I think Shawn did a pretty good job in the last post of conveying how we all feel about San Francisco.  Friday was a truly magical day.  I think most people found yesterday relaxing.  It wasn’t our typical rest day as we are not used to being in big cities, but we all had a really great time.

Today was incredible.  We met for our mass ride and the streets were flooded with musicians, artists, craftspeople, and beyond.  We rode through the streets of San Francisco obeying traffic rules.  Afterwords, the amazing San Francisco Bike Coalition came and did valet parking of our bikes while we had an after party with KIVA and their lenders.  I must say these are all awesome people.  They are all really excited about what we are doing, and we share the same enthusiasm for their cause.  It was an afternoon of food, drinks, stimulating discussion and dancing to the beats of some wicked DJ’s.  We did some of our best fundraising, selling about a dozen tee-shirts and tons of bracelets.

We’ve got a long day ahead of us, but then we will be returning back to semi-sane days.  I suppose I should finish this post, because I have been quite lazy this weekend and need to mentally prepare myself for the fact that my thighs are going to be sore again tomorrow night.  But before I go, I just want to thank everyone again for supporting us and checking out our website.  We love you all.

You guys are truly inspiring! I am so glad you’re having a great time on this incredible journey…successfully getting over all the bumps in your way. I thought that downhill/uphill debate was interesting, by the way (even though it’s from an earlier post…Gaby’s?). Thank you for your enthusiasm and compassion…and man, I only wish I had come along for the ride!

    yours truly,

Agents of Change supporter (student at Dalhousie, but from Toronto),

    Laura xoxo
