Kunaka was definitely a highlight of the night and they had the whole place buzzing with their energetic performance!
Last but not least, a HUGE thank you (partly to make up for the one I oh so embarrassingly managed to not give them publicly on the night of) to TINA PARDIWALA AND KRISTY RYAN – our absolutely phenomenal Gala co-Chairs for 2008! these two went above and beyond, producing an event that completely blew everyone away.
Until next year, which I’m sure can only be bigger and better….

Global Agents for Change

Hi Shawn,
This is Jack’s mom, I hope you remember Jack, he accepted the Award for Random Acts of Kindness. We both attended the gala and had a wonderful time, it is something that he will never forget.
I am writing, actually on RAK’s behalf, and on behalf of the children in Jack’s school and district that participate, with a *minor* correction, that I hope will be noted if /when you showcase the event. You see, the age group actually is 9-14, and it originates in Coquitlam *and* Port Coquitlam. These are things that the kids are proud of (and notice the minor discrepancies in this area of recognition)…I hope this doen’t come across as petty, or insignificant. I just was hoping they could all be recognized in this way, with their city acknowledged.
P.S.- Jack was a bit of a celebrity at his school the following Monday, and hopes he indeed will be considered for participation in the selection of next year’s recipients. Sometimes a younger voice can have a large input. (“out of the mouths of babes…”)
Thanks, and thanks again for a wonderful evening and for the respect shown to my son.
Nancy Thomas
Changes made, thanks for bringing them to our attention Nancy! As mentioned in the email, any help we can provide, Jack and the rest of the RAK crew have our support. Jack touched a lot of lives that evening and we expect great things!

Hi Shawn. I am Bo Palmer’s mother, he was the lucky recipient of your Local Global Agents for Change Award. I would like to say thank you for a wonderful evening at your Global AFC Gala. Bo and I were very impressed that such a young group of individuals(led by yourself)could undertake such a huge event and ultimately produce a smashing successful, unforgettable night! The positive energy in the room was explosive, the music was fantastic and the company was ever inspiring! The following week, Bo presented the North Vancouver Boys and Girls Club with $500. to buy whatever they most need for that club-they were extremely happy to say the least. Thank you for the truly wonderful evening and the cherished award given to Bo. Keep up the fabulous work you and your cohorts are doing, Sincerely, Michelle Leone
