Nasim and Jafar – Iranian Cyclists for Peace in Vancouver
High on a lookout near Nehalem Bay Oregon during this year’s Riding to Break the Cycle tour, our intrepid crew of cyclists met an amazing couple from Iran. Nasim and Jafar were 14 months into a 2 year journey, cycling for peace, global understanding and environmental conservation – and they happened to be going our way!
Having them join our group for the next 10 days is one of the absolute highlights for the team this summer and all quickly became good friends. After 10 days together on the road we headed our separate ways in San Francisco, but now they find themselves in Vancouver for a month long break before heading off to Asia for the next phase of their journey.
They’ve been staying with my family in White Rock for the past couple of days, headed to a friend’s in Vancouver for the next while. They have various presentations and tree plantings (they’ve planted trees of peace all over the world) planned over the next month, so make sure to get in touch with them either through us, or directly through their website below!
