Raging Californian fires brought 2008 Riding to Break the Cycle cyclists from Monterey to King City, where the Global Agents for Change’s charitable ride to raise awareness for microcredit was able to continue safely. A local paper, the King City Rustler helped the group spread their message with a feature in their July 9th edition.

July 2, 2008 - Half Moon Bay Review, California
The 2008 Riding to Break the Cycle cyclists were featured in the Half Moon Bay’s local community paper. These young cyclists were hosted by the local Coastside Lutheran Church during their stay. They were recognized for their microcredit fundrasing efforts remarking that this year’s ride alone will raise $80,000.

14 year-old Jake Duvall of Victoria and 18 year-old Bo Palmer of North Vancouver were praised in The Province newspaper for their achievements in winning a Young Agents Award from Global Agents for Change. The high school students will each receive $750 for their humanitarian projects, and be linked up with the university students and young professionals of Global Agents for Change.
