Opportunity Fund

The Opportunity Fund acts as an accelerator for established initiatives, removing financial and technical barriers to help global community building projects broaden their reach and achieve sustainability. We focus on the fields of microfinance and education, assisting future leaders to pull themselves and their communities out of poverty.

Education Generation

An online community helping individuals to pool funds and provide secondary and post-secondary scholarships for promising young leaders in the developing world. A sub-section of The Opportunity Fund, money raised through Education Generation is granted to our phenomenal partner organizations who administer the student scholarships.

*Please note this website, and funds raised, is managed by BC registered non-profit Agents of Change for Economic Empowerment (Agents of Change).

Microcredit Fund

In addition to capacity building grants to microfinance projects in the developing world, a portion of our lending is targeted to individual entrepreneurs through the online lending platform of Kiva (www.kiva.org).

*The lending portion of the fund is managed by Agents of Change for Economic Empowerment, while Global AFC manages all grants.

Please visit our lending fund at www.kiva.org/lender/globalafc to see all of the entrepreneurs helped so far!

Microcredit – Some Basics

• Trust-based, collateral-free loans to poor individuals for income producing purposes. Microcredit helps developing world entrepreneurs start or expand small businesses to pull their families out of poverty.

• A systematic approach, built with the poor in mind to break long term cycles of poverty. Not a handout, these are loans and usually charge interest – nobody wants to depend on charity, this is about fair access.

We encourage you to contact us with any further questions about the Opportunity Fund, what it supports, and how you can take part!
