Time keeps on slippin’…

So, the last time I looked at that ticker at the bottom of the website it said like 31 days I’m pretty sure. And then I blinked….TWO weeks?!?? Ok breath, it’s all going to be fine. Right? RIGHT??

The last couple of weeks have been completely nuts - although those that know us will wonder how that differentiates them from any other weeks in the last 6 months. With the ride kickoff date screaming towards us at a pace that seems somehow outside of the realm of time/space possibilities - ie, since when does Tuesday come after Thursday….I SWEAR it was just Thursday!

Last posting I believe we’d just wrapped up a crazy week of fundraisers, with $3800 raised in Kelowna, and then another $2000 or so between two events thrown later that week at Anza Club in vancouver and Volume 11 in White Rock. All smashing successes, and all a lot of fun.

ANZA Club rocked out HARD

The documentary crew was on the scene as always capturing all of those inspiring (or horribly embarrassing) moments. We even managed to get Tammy on the OTHER side of the camera :-)

Had most of the crew out for a massive double birthday for myself (Shawn) and Nigel, transformed into a fundraiser of course ($1200!). All in all some excellent team bonding over the week’s events, raised a bunch of money, and spread the word to a few hundred more people!

We seem to have reached a bit of a tipping point - often when I go to introduce our project to someone lately I’m met with an “Oh, I’ve HEARD about that!”, or an “I saw your article in the paper, thats amazing!”

Maybe crossing the threshold of pushing the project out there, as we’re now often simply trying to keep up with the people approaching us and interested in being involved or helping out. Not to say we don’t need the help, as we desperately do on all fronts!

Peace for now, we (seriously now) will be keeping this updated far more regularly! Lots to come this week,

–Shawn
