HOW TO HELP, ROUTES, DATES & FURTHER INFORMATION
Global Agents for Change is Riding to Break the Cycle again - each year we launch amazing youth led cycling journeys raising funds and awareness to fight global poverty.
Teams of 25 incredible young people (18-30) spend their summer learning about global development over the course of an epic physical and mental journey.
Two 2009 tours:
Pacific Coast - Vancouver to Tijuana (3000km, 7 weeks, departs May 31*)
European - Amsterdam to Istanbul (4000km, 8 weeks, departs July 1st*)
Each tour aims to raise $100,000 for critical global development goals. Funds also support our youth managed microcredit fund, helping developing world entrepreneurs with small trust based loans as they pull their families out of poverty.

Mexico Route
“Anyone serious about touring must ride this route once in their lifetime.”
~ Dylan Weil, 2008 RTBTC Rider
Peddling south from Vancouver riders hug the Pacific Coast through the farmland and forests of Washington, enormous sand dunes and hill climbs of Oregon, stunning old growth redwoods and coastline in California, and fun stops in cities like Seattle, Arcata, San Francisco, LA and San Diego.
This tour is packed with unforgettable experiences and each day’s scenery is, almost inconceivably, even more beautiful than the last. The tour ends with an impactful visit to join microcredit borrowers and community workers in Tijuana, Mexico to see the true impact of the money being raised.
European Route
From Amsterdam through Germany, touching in the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria before arriving in Istanbul, Turkey. 2009 is the inaugural year for the European Route and much is subject to change. As compared to the more established Mexico Route, this tour is best suited for individuals who don’t mind focusing on logistics and have a strong willingness to contribute to planning and organizing in the months leading up to the tour. Patience and a sense of humour will be important, as even with thorough preparation plans may change frequently and/or unexpectedly.
